There are events, There are occurances, There are accomplishments and Then There is The Divider.

With unrelenting drive, determination and passion for the project, we have got to the end of filming of our film and it is certainly, more than anything I’ve ever worked on, been the very defination of collaberative and as a team, as a collective, we should be incredibly proud of ourselves.

I never once doubted we couldn’t complete filming and even in the darkest days I knew we would complete the goal, the achievement and here we stand.

We wrap on the 11th December and head into post production and another stage of this amazing story.

This was Rich’s and Pete’s last shoot – a massive thank you to the boys for their commitment, time, support, expertise, input and vision in being part of this wonderful film.

Thank you from me to you all individually and as Team Divider for all your amazing hard work and support, we got there and next year and 2013 are going to be spectacular !!

Just a massive thank you to Rich for the hours he has spent in the costume and the work achieved being our hero and a huge thank you to Adrian and the team at Academy for making us believe a man can divide !

Included are some stills from the shoot, we have one filming day left with Rich as David as we come to the end of filming.

As we get near to our end target, (3 shoots left !) we are able to start building a clearer view as to how and where we aim to build the promotional work around the film and where we may launch and develop the film from.

We had the opportunity to take a number of pictures of Rich in costume which we can use as a base from which to build from.

One idea would be to have small A3 cards with the film title and details on these that will go towards the press packs pre industry invite that Becky and I are currently working on.

As many of you will be aware I’m a long term member of the Empire Film Magazine forum and on the boards I have been fortunate to make a number of life long friendships that in turn have been able to contribute to the film’s progress in a number of ways. Luke and Omer are both acting in the film as Syndicate members and Becky Chick is helping me with the Marketing / PR  and promotional elements of the film given her own background in this area, having worked on feature films such as Hot Fuzz. Very talented people indeed and I am very fortunate and delighted to have my ‘Empire family’ on board with Team Divider.

In addition to these guys is my other friend, Chiara MacLellan, an exceptionally talented, Edinburgh based artist who has agreed to produce some art work based on our existing stills for promotional purposes for the film and beyond.

I am exceptionally happy to be able to bring Chiara’s style and approach to the film, a unique vision discussed between us, these pieces will add so much to assisting the visual style of the film and it’s collective journey.

What we are able to achieve now is a whole lot more, given we have a lot of footage open to us, we’ve been able to spend the time delivering a thematic introduction to each of the main characters whilst giving an indication of the story that will run through the film.

It now runs at 3 minutes and 29 seconds and has been edited and sent over to Ben to complete final foley and score and then we can release with final tweaks and add to the website.

One great additional piece that I think adds so much is the insert of several indents of text across the sweep of the cape telling the audience the motivational construct of the story.

Hope to have this up and running before the end of September.

We hear of Marks making reference to Major Carrington when they first make contact and we provide subtle links to Collins’ military past… and here it is.

Les (Collins) and Carrington (SFM member Harry) and the crew used my back garden as barracks for the sequence, which story wise will be six months prior to the beginning of the main story of the film.

Including some stills which indicate once again our strength of utilising great props and limited budget into film gold, well done one and all !!

Just an update on the extensive filming run that is occuring over the summer, having shot continiously over a sustained period now, the final haul is in sight, we are shooting all of August and then will have ‘smaller’ sequences to complete in September with an anticipated conclusion in October of principal filming.

Work on the main trailer is to begin at the end of August, a vital element of our ‘armoury’ in promoting the film, finding the time between filming and editing the film and other SFM projects and ‘life’ has meant we have had to delay but we’ll have it ready asap.

Various ‘promtional’ opportunities are arising week by week, once finalised and in place I’ll provide more information but safe to say, very exciting prospects for us next year.

There is due to be an article in an upcoming edition of the ‘Sutton Guardian’ concerning the film and our intentions and a ‘progress report’, in theory, will be in today’s (28th July) edition, watch out for it.

The future is incredibly bright for us, the edit is coming along very strongly, we are making an incredible feature, the support behind us for this project is immense.

Dear all

In keeping with demonstrating our progress as we head to completing filming later this year (2011), it seem the perfect time to add lots of stills from the vaious shoots and scenes we have completed.

These show the variety and structure to everyone’s work and propel the plot forward as the film’s conclusion comes ever nearer on the horizon.

Filming took place once again at The Hogsback Brewery, who have been so very supportive of the venture at every step and an incredibly generous partner in the process of making the film.

Next filming dates are in June and July this year.

As we open up the new year, I bring you news of progression towards our end target. We shot the film’s final scene last Sunday (6th Feb), Scene 31, with the strands of the story being drawn together leading us to our conclusion.

Filming went very well indeed and the cast enjoyed every minute and our extras did a fine job.

Oh and the final shot was exceptional and as strong as we could have wished for.
